Join us for the final event in this season’s Tumamoc Author Series!
Authors Linda M. Gregonis and Victoria D. Evans will be in conversation with Tucson archaeologist Gail Hartmann to discuss their groundbreaking book, The Hohokam and Their World—a deep and beautifully illustrated exploration of one of the most sophisticated ancient cultures of the Sonoran Desert.
Set against the powerful backdrop of Tumamoc Hill, itself a significant Hohokam archaeological site, the conversation will discuss the traces the Hohokam left behind: pottery, carved stone, shell ornaments, and stunning rock imagery. These materials offer a glimpse into how the Hohokam viewed and moved through their world—how they understood water, the desert, the ocean, travel, ancestors, and the cosmos.
Discover what the land still remembers.
